Ocean
A platform for accelerating marine conservation and research

Connecting Science to the Sea—and Data to Decisions

Greenwater Foundation accelerates marine conservation by providing a platform that powers ocean research—connecting scientists with the vessels and ocean science assets they need, and equipping decision-makers with the data to determine where action is needed most.

Why We Do What We Do

Finding solutions to conserve ocean life happens when scientists get out on the water—and when decision-makers have the data to act—because research confined to labs can only take us so far.

Greenwater Foundation is addressing this through an integrated platform that connects access, data, and action—protecting biodiversity, mapping the ocean floor, discovering life-saving compounds, and combating climate change.

Ocean Mapping

Generating data to reveal what is below

Our collaborative efforts have contributed high-resolution coastal mapping and ocean intelligence that shows critical habitats, updates marine navigation resources, and guides conservation strategies. We are advancing satellite-derived bathymetry (SDB) to map coastal regions at scale in partnership with Caladan Oceanic and TCarta.

Research Vessel: R/V Cosmo

Chartered for Critical Research and Exploration

Through a very generous donation, we now own a research vessel—R/V Cosmo, a 2013 Bruce Roberts 52, Steel-Aluminum Trawler Yacht. R/V Cosmo enables research in underserved regions, deployment of scientific teams, and integration of mapping and mission planning.
