How We Work
More access. Better data. Smarter decisions.
01
Connecting scientists with vessels and ocean science assets through our web app and research vessel
02
Generating ocean intelligence to guide decisions through our web app and coastal mapping
03
Enabling research and conservation outcomes
Platform Component 1
VesselConnect is our core web app, designed to address one of the most significant barriers to ocean science: access to research vessels. It connects scientists with vessels globally, unlocking underutilized infrastructure and accelerating research timelines.
Without access, research does not happen.

Platform Component 2
Data for Decision-Makers
Greenwater Foundation is advancing satellite-derived bathymetry (SDB) to generate high-resolution coastal mapping data at scale—providing critical intelligence to guide conservation and resource allocation decisions. Through strategic partnerships, we combine advanced satellite technology with ocean science expertise to rapidly map coastal regions that are otherwise difficult and costly to survey.

What This Data Enables
One of the largest philanthropic donations of coastal mapping data to Seabed 2030.
Platform Component 3
Greenwater Foundation owns R/V Cosmo, a 2013 Bruce Roberts 52 steel/aluminum trawler yacht, chartered for marine research expeditions. Cosmo enables research in underserved regions, deployment of scientific teams, and integration of mapping and mission planning.

Platform Component 4
Through data generated by our web app, ocean mapping, and research vessel, we support scientific expeditions, conservation initiatives, and collaborative research. We provide data and insight that enable governments, NGOs, and funders to allocate resources effectively.
